If anything good comes out of this COVID-19 Quarantine, it’s that I finally have the time to do all the things I’ve been meaning to but always put off. One of those things is cycling.
Pictured above is my baby – a beautiful purple FELT road bike I bought with all my savings about eight years ago. It has been quite a while since I’ve ridden it so I really started to miss it. I’ve done various cycling tours with this trusty Roadie, including a crazy 100-miler. Even though I almost died, it was a lot of fun! I’ve been wanting to take this baby to the shop for a tune-up so I can ride again but I’ve always been busy. Or maybe that’s just an excuse. 😜
Anyway, I finally took it in last week. The shop gave it a nice tune-up, replaced the tubes and bar tape, and gave it a wipe-down to make it like-new again. I’m so excited to have it back today and, if the weather cooperates, I’ll be taking it out tomorrow! Yay! Riding always made me happy and energized. It was just me and the road, or me and the trail, with no distractions. Riding and feeling the wind in my face gives me a renewed sense of freedom in some way. Plus, I can use the exercise to burn off all the quarantine snacking I’ve been doing. 😂
