The air was fragrant with a thousand trodden aromatic herbs, with fields of lavender, and with the brightest roses blushing in tufts all over the meadows. -William C. Bryant
I love all things lavender. From flowers to desserts – like ice cream and milk tea. So when Vickie wanted to do her senior graduation and portraits in a lavender field, I immediately jumped at the opportunity. A 90-minute drive and a bumpy bus ride later, we finally got to the Cherry Valley Lavender Festival. The first thing we did was visit all the food booths where we pigged out on lavender cookies, pastries, ice cream, and teas! All super delicious! Flower-flavored sweet treats almost never fail. 🙂 Then we got Vickie a lavender flower crown perfectly fitting for the shoot.
We spent the afternoon hanging out, visiting the booths, and didn’t shoot until the light got softer and the crowds started to thin out. Honestly, the fields were not as abundant in lavenders as I had hoped, but it was still a beautiful field to photograph in. It actually forced me to be extra creative to get the dreamy flower field look that I wanted. It was a fun day, however hot, and the images here are worth the trip!
